TRINITY COUNCIL
David Leader
President
Dave has been involved at Trinity Lutheran in the following capacities: Worship Assistant, Visitation, Communion, Stewardship/Missions Committee, Stewardship for All Seasons, Council Committee, and Bible Study leader. As we move in new and exciting directions here at Trinity, Dave hopes to be a part of shaping that direction with the congregation, looking at the vision and focus we are taking will be an exciting time.
Heidi Fischer
Vice-President
Heidi has truly enjoyed her journey through faith to the platform Trinity has provided. She has been a chaperone on numerous youth events, including Group Leader for faith ventures to Montana and Pennsylvania. Heidi has sat on the Family and Youth Committee, relished being a group leader for confirmation classes for 5 years, plus volunteered at many of Trinity’s long-time events like the pancake supper. Recently, she has been enriched from making phone calls to the older, wiser, Lutheran in our congregation. Heidi is very excited for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
Kerry Lueders
Secretary
I have been a part of Trinity my whole life, being involved in different aspects as the years have gone by. I decided that the time was right to say yes to the call of being on church Council. I am looking forward to adding another voice to the wide range of people that make up Trinity Lutheran Church.
Rev. Andy Behrendt
Lead Pastor
Pastor Andy was first called to Trinity as associate pastor of family life and youth. Installed in the church basement during a 2010 tornado warning, he became lead pastor at the end of 2019, just in time for a pandemic. Pastor Andy is a former newspaper reporter and occasionally still moonlights as an improvisational comedian. He’s married to Tracy, the Waupaca Historical Society’s director. Raised in the Green Bay area by an ELCA pastor and a piano teacher, “PA” is now a dad to two boys of his own, Ben and Christian. The four Behrendts feel enormously blessed to be part of the Trinity community.
Don Morgan
Don is in his fifth year on the Church Council as well as his fifth year as Chairman of the Property & Grounds Committee. Don and his wife, Bev, have been members of TLC 26 years. His short-term goal is to see the church back open for in-person worship as soon as possible. Don and Bev miss seeing and visiting with their Christian support group and pray for the church to open up soon in order for Christians to gather together.
Lisa Zube
My family and I are newer members of the church with three young children. I want to take a more active role in the church to be a part of the Waupaca community. I think it is important to be a part of the council so the next generation has a voice since I have a young family.
Susan Harrington
As a lifelong member of Trinity, Sue has been involved in several capacities. She taught Sunday School and was also involved in confirmation for many years. Currently she is a prayer partner for one of her former third grade students. Sue and her husband have also served as Elders for many years. As a Church Council member, she hopes to represent Trinity in a positive light and encourage my fellow council members as we strive to make decisions that will impact all Trinity members. Philippians 4:13
Cheryl Sletten
Hello, I’m Cheryl Sletten. Paul and I moved to Waupaca in 2011 and joined Trinity especially for it’s large and vibrant youth groups as our daughter was in 7th grade at that time. We have 3 grown children and 2 wonderful daughters-in-law. I’m very excited to be on the Church Council at a time when we’re contemplating where we are as a congregation and ways we can have more meaningful opportunities to connect with each other and our wider community.
Nick Barden
I grew up in West Bend, WI and graduated high school there. I then moved to Wausau where I was a forester and met my wife Erin. We have been married for 13 years now, and have three children (Annaleigh 11, Madalynn 10, and Conner 8). I have changed careers since being a forester and have been a Safety Manager for the last 12 years. When there is free time, my family and I enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, fishing, swimming and kayaking.

Mike began working at Trinity in 2017 and takes care of our church both inside and out. Originally from Stevens Point, Mike moved to the Town of Lind, where his grandparents were from, and enjoys working on the hobby farm he has created on his property. Mike is a very humble person and you will never hear him boast about his work. However, he often works long days, electing to volunteer extra hours to ensure our church is taken care of. Trinity has depended on him greatly through COVID-19 as we have established a lot of new procedures. Outside of work, he has one daughter named Maddie, who he spends a lot of time with. In his free time, Mike enjoys working outside and hanging out with his brother who lives down the street from him.

Delaney is a licensed foster parent and has worked with youth most of her life. She comes from a large family and grew up in Rosendale, a small town near Fond du Lac. Delaney spends most of her free time at her parents farm or out exploring nature. She enjoys camping and hiking as well as reading a good book at home. One of her favorite Bible verses is “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12
Shannon Anderson

After her two children started school, she became a high school English teacher, teaching at Waupaca High School and two other area schools during her career. She is a life-long gardener, an avid reader and writer, and a bit of a health nut. Over the years, Shannon has volunteered in many roles at Trinity. Currently, she serves on the Stewardship Team, where she exercises her language skills. It is a position she never knew she needed! She also serves on the team that built and planted the Memorial Garden. One thing Shannon has learned from volunteering at Trinity is that no matter what she is doing, she always has fun and works with wonderful people. She looks forward to being directly involved with all of you and helping you find a place to use your gifts and talents to serve God.
